This Privacy Policy explains how French for PR ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and learning platform (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up (directly or via Google Sign-In).
• Learning data: your lesson progress, exercise responses, streaks, and practice history, used to personalize your experience.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles that directly.
• Support requests: information you provide when contacting support or reporting a bug.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To track your learning progress and personalize lessons.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To communicate with you about your account, billing, or support requests.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate French for PR:

• Firebase (Google): authentication and database storage.
• Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
• OpenAI: powers our AI conversation and speaking practice features. Text you submit in these features may be sent to OpenAI to generate a response.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems, except where we are required to retain records (e.g. billing history) for legal or accounting purposes.

5. Your Rights

You can access and update your account information from your Profile page at any time, and permanently delete your account and data from Profile → Danger Zone. You may also contact us to request a copy of your data or ask questions about how it's used.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies required for authentication and basic site functionality, as well as those set by Stripe during checkout. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

French for PR is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
